The Association of Resident Doctors under the distinguished leadership of Dr Kwarshak Kevin marked the 2025 Father’s Day on Sunday 15th June 2025. It was a celebratory occasion to thank all special dads amongst the community for their commitment to duty and endless devotion and care for their individual families.

Every day is a proud moment for me as father, especially waking up day by day to see my child showing genuine interest in learning and exploring new things.

My advice to men in these struggling times is that tough times never last but tough people do, whatever challenges we face as men are just temporal and there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

A proud moment for many fathers is watching my son growing into happy and compassionate individuals who will make a positive impact in the world and also being able to meet his needs and mentor him as father.

“To struggling men, I would say that it’s okay to ask for help and that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Focus on building a support network, prioritize self-care, and celebrate small victories along the way.”

One secret to a happy home is effective communication. When family members feel heard, validated, and understood, it can foster a sense of love, respect, and connection, without God as the center, you will keep struggling.

There was a day my son truly made me proud. My father has always called me “boy” since I was about ten, and it’s something I’ve grown used to. But on that particular day, when my dad called me “boy,” my son boldly responded, “He’s my father; he’s not a boy.” In that moment, I saw that I was raising a child who understands and stands up for respect.
How will you encourage struggling men today?
Encouragement for struggling men today
Learn to say “no” with confidence and clarity when necessary. It takes strength and wisdom to set boundaries, but doing so protects your peace and helps you stay focused on what truly matters.

My wife is my helper, so I get to do things while she helps. So, every responsibility at home belongs to me but she helps me out. So, I don’t get to overburden her with work.
